Max Tooley originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans following the 2024 NFL Draft out of BYU. He appeared in each of Houston's four preseason games on both defense and special teams and recorded 10 total tackles, one quarterback hurry and one forced fumble. In the Texans' third preseason contest against the New York Giants, Tooley tallied five tackles, tied for the most on the team, and forced a fumble. A native of Bountiful, Utah, Tooley played six seasons at BYU (2018-23), seeing action in 60 games with 31 starts. In his sixth year in 2023, Tooley posted single-season career highs in games started (10), total tackles (92) and tackles for loss (five).
