Jake McQuaide, who became the first long snapper to earn back-to-back Pro Bowl honors in NFL history (2016-17), comes to Minnesota having appeared in 190 career games during his 14-year NFL tenure. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams following the 2011 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. He played his first 10 seasons with the Rams (2011-20) before spending time with the Dallas Cowboys (2021-22) and Detroit Lions (2023). Vikings Special Teams Coordinator Matt Daniels was the Rams Assistant Special Teams Coach during the 2018-19 seasons and Head Coach Kevin O'Connell was the Rams Offensive Coordinator during McQuaide's final season in Los Angeles in 2020. Daniels was also the Cowboys Assistant Special Teams Coach in McQuaide's first season in Dallas in 2021.
