Twenty-eight teams are turning their focus to the offseason as four vie for the elusive Lombardi Trophy.
Now, there's plenty of important dates in the lead up to the 2025 NFL Draft, including March 12 when impending free agents are able to sign contracts with new teams. That means there's fewer than 50 days for Minnesota to evaluate pending free agents and assess who might become available across the NFL.
Here's a forewarning: There's 20-plus pending Vikings free agents and many could be highly valued due to strong individual seasons that went a long way in bringing in 14 wins and a bounty of club records.
Let's talk specifics.
Analytics website Pro Football Focus on Wednesday ranked its top 100 players eligible for free agency this spring, including in the top 50 Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold (No. 9), tackle Cam Robinson (17), running back Aaron Jones, Sr. (20), safety Camryn Bynum (31) and cornerback Byron Murphy, Jr. (33).
Veteran defensive backs Harrison Smith and Stephon Gilmore were included, as well, at Nos. 54 and 67.
We warned you: There's a full gamut of Vikings set to hit the market – a cornerstone in Smith, who will contemplate retirement or a return for his 14th season; there's Bynum, the viral celebration choreographer and Murphy, the team's interceptions leader (six picks) and a first-time Pro Bowl selection, plus Darnold, Robinson, Jones and Gilmore who were key cogs in their first seasons as Vikings.

In addition to recapping outlooks, PFF outlined two-year data for players to help generate free agent comps that in cases dated back more than a decade; they give an idea of a player's potential next deal.
Darnold's metrics were likened to Jay Cutler, who signed a massive 2014 extension with Chicago that was supposed to run for seven years but was intact for only three. In its analysis, PFF noted that Darnold in 2024 balanced 33 big-time throws with 24 turnover-worthy plays, softening his solid 35-12 TD:INT ratio.
Here's two more intriguing Vikings comps: Jones was weighed against Mark Ingram, who joined Baltimore on a three-year, $15 million deal in 2019, his age 30 season, and then made it to his third Pro Bowl; Murphy doubled his 2023 picks and was compared to Brandon Flowers, who played 2014 on a one-year deal with the Chargers and re-upped with them for another four seasons the following year.
Akin to the draft, it's challenging to project outcomes for free agency. Things like performance history, market values and probable roster priorities can be treated as clues for what teams might do.
Minnesota tied Kansas City for the most players (7) on PFF's list; three teams – the Chargers, Jets and Steelers – boast six and the Cowboys five. In the NFC North, Chicago and Detroit have three and Green Bay zip. For what it's worth, the Packers had the youngest roster in average age at the start of 2024.

Camryn Bynum's community impact
As good as Bynum has been on the field for the Vikings, his greatest impact has occurred off it.
Earlier this week, the 26-year-old was picked by the NFL Players Association as one of five finalists for the 2025 NFLPA Alan Page Community Award, which annually recognizes a union member who goes above and beyond to perform community service and is the highest honor the NFLPA can bestow upon a player.
As a finalist, Bynum will receive a $10,000 donation from the NFLPA to put toward his foundation or charity of choice. The "Bynum Faith Foundation" was established by Bynum to "be a light to others."
The NFLPA release shared the following: "Bynum earned Week 15 NFLPA Community MVP honors after he treated 25 children from the Minnesota area to a $100 shopping spree, custom T-shirts, dinner, desserts and prizes. The following week, he celebrated his heritage at his foundation's "Filipino Fiesta," featuring traditional dances, cuisine, karaoke and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event, attended by over 300 people, supported initiatives such as building boats for underserved Filipino fishermen."
Along with the Vikings safety, the cohort of 2025 finalists includes Saints linebacker Demario Davis, Ravens running back Derrick Henry, Colts center Ryan Kelly and Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton.
The nominees were determined by more than 11,000 digital fan votes – choosing between 18 NFLPA Community MVPs, which were selected each week of the regular season – and a panel of judges, including former NFL players Anquan Boldin and Jeremiah Brown and national NFL writer Mike Jones.
This year's winner will be announced at 11 a.m. (CT) on Feb. 5 at the NFLPA's annual Super Bowl press conference and will receive an additional $100,000 donation toward his foundation or charity of choice.
