EAGAN, Minn. — Two picks so far in 2023 and make it two former USC Trojans.
The Vikings on Friday drafted cornerback Mekhi Blackmon out of Southern California with the 102nd overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.
He'll rejoin former teammate, WR Jordan Addison, who was selected with the 23rd overall pick on Thursday night. Blackmon and Addison faced each other at practices last year.
Listed at 5-foot-11 and 178 pounds, Blackmon is from East Palo Alto, California.
Blackmon originally began his college career at the College of San Mateo in 2017, recording 20 tackles an interception and a pass breakup.

He transferred to Colorado in 2018 and started 19 of 27 games through 2021.
Blackmon transferred to USC in 2022. Last season, Blackmon started all 14 games, recording 66 tackles, three interceptions, 12 pass breakups, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.
Vikings Legend Robert Smith, who was selected in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft, announced the selection from Kansas City.
Smith honored Frank Gilliam, Bud Grant, Fred Zamberletti and Dennis Green, who have passed away in recent years.
