It remains to be seen whom the Vikings will add to their roster through the NFL Draft, and the topic continues to be debated.
Names that are confirmed, however, are those of the **Vikings Legends who will announce their former team’s picks**: Keith Millard and Robert Griffith will announce the Vikings second- and third-round selections, respectively.
Millard, drafted 13th overall by the Vikings in 1984, played six seasons in Minnesota, during which he received two Pro Bowl nods.
Griffith played for the Vikings from 1994-2001, earning a Pro Bowl invite after the 2000 season.
Millard is among 32 NFL Legends, a group that includes 11 Hall of Famers, who will announce Round 2 picks for their respective teams. Griffith is one of 32 past team nominees or winners of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
Holler: O-line depth could play into Vikings draft process
On Tuesday afternoon, Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman told media members at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center that **“five different positions”** could be in consideration at No. 30, where the Vikings are currently slated to pick in the first round.
John Holler of *Viking Update *recently **delved into this year’s offensive line class**, saying that "scouts are all over the board as to where players will fall and what their value will be." He did call it a "sure thing," however, that guard Quenton Nelson will be off the board by the end of the first round. Holler wrote:
Aside from Nelson, things could be wide open for the Vikings and other teams looking to bolster their offensive lines.
At tackle, Mike McGlinchey of Notre Dame is the best bet to be gone by No. 30, but some projections have him still being available when Minnesota is scheduled to make its first pick. Depending on how players are ranked, tackles like Connor Williams of Texas, Kolton Miller of UCLA or Tyrell Crosby could be available.
If the Vikings are looking for an interior lineman, there will be no shortage of available players – a list that could include Will Hernandez of UTEP, Isaiah Wynn of Georgia, James Daniels of Iowa and Billy Price of Ohio State.
Whether or not the Vikings stay at 30 or trade out, Holler said that the numbers alone "suggest that one or more would still be available" when Minnesota is on the clock.
2017 Vikings draft refresher highlighted by Cook, Elflein
The Vikings were part of seven of 38 total trades that occurred during the 2017 NFL Draft.
One of those trades enabled Minnesota to move up and snag Dalvin Cook with the 41st overall pick. The running back got off to a hot start in the first three-plus games before a torn ACL halted his rookie season.
Jerry Palleschi of ESPN991 recently gave fans a **refresher of the Vikings entire 2017 draft**, headlined by a good catch in Cook and their third-round pick, Pat Elflein. Palleschi wrote:
Pat Elflein was selected in the third round and started 14 games for Minnesota. Elflein anchored the much improved offensive line and earned honors from the Pro Football Writers Association. He missed two regular season games due to a shoulder injury.
Two Big Ten defensive players were selected by Rick Spielman in the 4th round. Jaleel Johnson (DE) out of Iowa went on to make a single tackle in five total appearances. Michigan linebacker Ben Gedeon (LB) played in all 16 games for Minnesota and started nine of them including the season opener. Gedeon finished with 37 tackles.
Danny Isidora, Stacy Coley, Ifeadi Odenigbo and Jack Tocho are the other 2017 draft picks who remain on the Vikings roster.
Minnesota also selected Rodney Adams, Bucky Hodges and Elijah Lee, who are no longer with the organization.
