Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman on Thursday announced during a conference call with reporters that **Minnesota does not plan to re-sign** Adrian Peterson. Spielman said that Peterson "is probably going to go down as one of the greatest Minnesota Vikings in team history."
As a follow up to Thursday's news, Andrew Krammer of the *Star Tribune *took a look at some of **Peterson’s top moments in Minnesota**. Krammer first listed the Oct. 14, 2007 game at Chicago. He wrote:
As a rookie, Adrian Peterson had a couple of 100-yard games at home, but his statement to the league came during his first trip to Soldier Field. He churned out 361 all-purpose yards, including 224 rushing (with three touchdowns), 128 on kickoff returns and nine receiving. The Vikings staved off the Bears comeback when Peterson's 53-yard return set up a winning field goal in the closing seconds.
Also during his rookie campaign, Peterson had a game for the books against the Chargers on Nov. 4. That day he outran Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson for the single-game NFL rushing record, a 296-yard benchmark that has yet to be topped.
The final three highlight moments Krammer included were Sept. 13, 2009 at Cleveland; Dec. 30, 2012 against Green Bay; and Nov. 15, 2015 at Oakland. Krammer wrote the following of Peterson's December game against the division-rival Packers:
The eventual NFL MVP capped a historic season with 199 rushing yards in a three-point victory over the Packers to clinch a playoff spot for the Vikings. The 27-year-old Peterson, a year removed from a torn ACL, entered the season finale needing 208 rushing yards to break Eric Dickerson's single-season record. He took five carries for 36 yards on the final drive to set up the winning field goal. Peterson settled for 2,097 on the season, becoming only the seventh running back in NFL history to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards.
UCLA Reunion
UCLA's strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi recently posted a photo to Twitter of 17 current and former Bruins back on campus during the offseason.
The photo includes Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks, who played at UCLA from 2011-14; and Kai Forbath, the Bruins kicker from 2007-10. Kendricks and Forbath are two of four UCLA alums on Minnesota's roster, joining long snapper Kevin McDermott and recently signed defensive lineman Datone Jones.
