Prior to joining the Vikings, spent time with the Buffalo Bills (2012-16), New England Patriots (2017-20), Carolina Panthers (2021), Indianapolis Colts (2022) and Dallas Cowboys (2023).
Named the Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 after leading the league in passes defensed (20) and tying for the league lead in interceptions (six), including returning two for touchdowns.
Became the first Patriots player to earn AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors and the first cornerback to win the award since Charles Woodson in 2009.

COLLEGE - SOUTH CAROLINA

Started all 40 games he played at South Carolina, posting 181 total tackles, 7.0 sacks, four forced fumbles, eight interceptions and 17 pass breakups.
Also returned punts for the Gamecocks, gaining 206 yards on 28 punt returns (7.4 average), and blocked a kick.
As a sophomore in 2010, started all 14 games and led the team with 79 total tackles, including six for loss, 3.0 sacks and a forced fumble. Also posted three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.
During his true freshman campaign, started all 13 games and ranked fifth on the team with 56 total tackles. Also hauled in one interception, recorded eight pass breakups and recovered a pair of fumbles.

Named "Mr. Football" for the state of South Carolina and First-Team All-State as a senior while helping South Pointe to a perfect 15-0 record and the South Carolina AAAA Division II title.

OFF THE FIELD

Son of Linda and Steve Gilmore.
Eldest of six - has four younger sisters and a brother.
Brother, Steven, played football at Marshall and is a CB for the Detroit Lions.
Married his college sweetheart, Gabrielle, who was a sprinter at South Carolina. Together, they have three children - Sebastian, Gael and Gisele.
Majored in sport and entertainment management at South Carolina.
