A veteran evaluator with a track record of success, Frank Acevedo is in his 24th season with the Vikings in 2024 and his 31st season in the NFL as a college scout. Acevedo joined the Vikings after seven seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs' personnel department.
Acevedo spent five seasons as Kansas City's area scout covering the Big 12 region. Prior to being an area scout with the Chiefs he was an assistant in the club's personnel department.
Before joining the Chiefs personnel department, Acevedo was running backs coach at Missouri Western in 1994 and 1995. Acevedo was an assistant coach at San Francisco State, from 1985-89.
Acevedo played defensive back for two seasons at San Francisco State after transferring from Palomar Junior College. He was a team captain at SFSU as a senior and also earned All-Northern California Athletic Conference honors.
Born in Escondido, Calif., Acevedo attended San Pasqual High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in physical education from SFSU. He and his wife, Phoebe, have a daughter Estella and a son, Antonio.
