David Williams enters his 14th NFL season and third with the Vikings in 2024 as a national scout. Williams was previously with the Chicago Bears for the 10 seasons. While with the Bears, Williams was most recently an area scout since 2016, responsible for evaluating all NFL prospects at universities along the West Coast. Serving as a pro scout from 2013–16, Williams evaluated upcoming NFL opponents and produced advance scouting reports. Williams coordinated free agent workouts and operated as the primary liaison for all alternative and international leagues.

Williams joined Chicago in 2012 as a scouting assistant, producing point-of-attack video cut-ups for both pro and college scouting departments, maintaining the draft board and researching prospects' backgrounds.

Williams spent one season with the Kansas City Chiefs as a player personnel assistant in 2011, contributing to daily upkeep of Kansas City's scouting databases and assisted in free agent visits. Entering the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, Williams served as an operations intern throughout three summers (2008-10) where he helped with daily quality control activities and produced travel guides for road games. Williams was an equipment intern during the 2010 Browns season, executing daily locker room and practice logistics.

Williams graduated from Washington University (St. Louis, Mo.) in 2010 with a degree in political science. A native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Williams attended Hawken School where he was named Chagrin Valley Conference Football Offensive MVP (2005) and was a three-time state qualifier in track.

Williams and his wife, Mia, reside in Minneapolis.
