Andrea Carlson began formal study of art at the University of Minnesota, completing a Bachelors of Art in Art and American Indian Studies in 2003. Carlson was awarded a Masters of Fine Arts from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 2005. The Minneapolis Institute of Arts exhibited Carlson's work in a two-person show entitled "New Skins"in 2007 with artist Jim Denomie. In 2009 the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian at the George Gustav Haye Center in New York exhibited Carlson in a solo exhibition curated by Joe Horse Capture. Currently Carlson is mounting a solo exhibition work entitled "EAT ALL" at Plug In Institute for Contemporary Art.
