The Raiders (4-4) will host the Vikings (6-2) at 3:25 (CT) at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Sunday. The Raiders have taken note of the Vikings success on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Here's a list of topics the Raiders players and coaches addressed during media sessions this week.
Raiders Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave on his past with Mike Zimmer and preparing for his defense
"(His defense is) very aggressive and they are going to be detailed," Musgrave said. "He and I were on the same staff one year in Atlanta so I feel like I know how he operates. He's just a tremendous coach. Their whole staff you can tell they leave no stone unturned in their preparation. I think in the heat of the battle you are focused at the task at hand. They are a good defense, their numbers reflect that and the film reflects that. "
Musgrave on working with Adrian Peterson in his past with the Vikings
"He's a tremendous talent," Musgrave said. "A hard worker and a very team-oriented person Adrian is, so that was a real blessing to have the opportunity to be associated with him."
Raiders QB Derek Carr on his relationship with QB Teddy Bridgewater
"Teddy's a great guy," Carr said. "Him and I, we text back and forth. We are cheering each other on and wishing the best for each other. I'm a football fan. I watch everybody. I know who was drafted where, and all that. I know who was in our class because we did so many things together, the combine, draft visits and all those kind of things."
Carr on what he thinks of Bridgewater on the field
"He's just so calm, and so cool," Carr said. "I just think he has such a bright future ahead of him, everyone knows that. I'm just happy for him because he's such a good person."
Raiders Head Coach Jack Del Rio on the Vikings playing well
"They are doing a nice job," Del Rio said. "They won the last four in a row and they are playing good football. They are in first place in their division right now, so I am looking forward to the matchup. "
Del Rio on Adrian Peterson and the Vikings offense
"It starts with Adrian Peterson," Del Rio said. "The guy is number one in rushing. He's very explosive player. Certainly having him back adds a really talented player to the mix. Teddy is much like our quarterback they have been able to surround him with some weapons and both guys played last year and their both playing well now."
Raiders Defensive Coordinator Ken Norton Jr. on Teddy Bridgewater
"He has great vision, good mobility and he understands his personnel around him," Norton said. "He finds the open man. I am really impressed with his ability to find the right guy to throw to."
