EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings have made a move to add depth to their running back room.
Minnesota announced Monday that it has claimed Wayne Gallman off waivers. The addition of Gallman to the roster is pending a physical.
The Vikings also announced that a handful of players, including running back Alexander Mattison, have been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Vikings still have Dalvin Cook and Kene Nwangwu on the active roster, plus fullback C.J. Ham. Running back A.J. Rose, Jr., and fullback Jake Bargas are also on Minnesota's practice squad.

Gallman, a 2017 fourth-round pick by the Giants, was waived by the Falcons on Saturday.
He has played in 59 career games with 14 starts in four-plus seasons in the league. Gallman has rushed for 1,548 yards and nine scores on 366 career carries (4.2 yards per carry).
Gallman also has 81 career receptions for 519 yards and two scores.
Gallman spent the first four seasons of his career with New York before joining Atlanta for six games this season.
The 27-year-old starred at Clemson, where he helped the Tigers win a national title in 2016.
Gallman holds Clemson's single-season rushing record with 1,527 yards. He is third in all-time rushing touchdowns (34) and fifth all-time in rushing yards (3,429).
