EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings are going back "across the pond" in 2017.

The Vikings will play the Cleveland Browns at Twickenham Stadium in England as part of next season's London Games, the NFL and Vikings announced on Wednesday.

The game will be a "home" game for Cleveland, which is scheduled to host Minnesota based on the league's interconference rotational schedule.

Minnesota has played in London once before, "hosting" and defeating Pittsburgh 34-27 in 2013 in front of 83,518 at London's Wembley Stadium. Cleveland has not played a game in London to this point.

Twickenham Stadium has hosted one NFL game so far, a 17-10 win by the Giants over the Rams earlier this year.

The game will be played in either Week 7 (October 22, 2017) or Week 8 (October 29, 2017). Final details will be released when the full 2017 NFL schedule is released. Fans can sign-up to Vikings E-News for future ticket information/opportunities.

The NFL also announced three other International Series games will occur in England: New Orleans "at" Miami, Baltimore "at" Jacksonville and Arizona "at" Los Angeles in 2017..

When Minnesota played in England, the Vikings built a 17-point lead by the start of the fourth quarter and deterred a comeback attempt by the Steelers in the game's final moments.

Pittsburgh drove all the way to the Minnesota 6-yard line and faced a third-and-6 with 19 seconds left when Everson Griffen sacked Ben Roethlisberger and forced a fumble that was recovered by Kevin Williams.

Adrian Peterson rushed for two touchdowns (60 and 7 yards) and finished with 140 yards on 23 carries. Matt Cassel had a pair of touchdown passes to Greg Jennings (70 and 16 yards), and Blair Walsh had field goals of 54 and 37 yards for the Vikings. Cassel completed 16 of 25 passes for 248 yards with no turnovers for a passer rating of 123.4.

Roethlisberger completed 36 of 51 passes for 383 yards with one touchdown and was intercepted by Chad Greenway. Roethlisberger was sacked five times, including one apiece by Greenway and Griffen and 2.5 by Jared Allen, who split a sack with Sharrif Floyd.

Cordarrelle Patterson returned five kickoffs a total of 144 yards (28.8 per return).
