The Vikings announced on Thursday morning that the club has signed running back Stevan Ridley and placed rookie running back Dalvin Cook on the Reserve/Injured list.
Ridley(5-11, 220)* *entered the NFL with the New England Patriots after being drafted in the 3rd round (#73 overall) in the 2011 draft. The Natchez, Mississippi native has appeared in 61 games with 26 starts in six seasons, racking up 2,914 yards on 688 carries (4.2 avg.) with 22 touchdowns along with 27 receptions for 144 yards. He recorded a 1,000-yard season in 2012 when he totaled 1,263 yards on 290 carries (4.4 avg.) with 12 touchdowns as he started a career-high 12 games for the Patriots. After brief stints with the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons the previous two seasons, Ridley spent the 2017 training camp with the Denver Broncos before being released as a part of final roster cuts.Â
