Eden Prairie, MN (March 14, 2016) –On Monday the Vikings announced that the club has signed free agent safety Michael Griffin.
Griffin joins the Vikings after spending the previous nine seasons of his career with the Tennessee Titans. Originally a 1st round pick (19th overall) by the Titans in the 2007 NFL Draft, Griffin has played in 141 career games (133 starts) and has recorded 912 tackles, 25 INTs, 65 PDs, 11 FFs, 5 FRs, 7.0 sacks and 21 TFLs. The former Texas Longhorn has been selected to 2 Pro Bowls (2008 and 2010) was a 2nd-Team All Pro selection in 2010. Griffin reunites with Vikings defensive backs coach Jerry Gray, who served as the Titans defensive coordinator from 2011-13.
