Vikings Sign Minnesota Native John Lowdermilk To Practice Squad

The Vikings have signed former Iowa S John Lowdermilk to the practice squad, the team announced today. To make room, the Vikings waived LB Terrance Plummer from the practice squad.

Lowdermilk has been signed to the Vikings practice squad. The former Hawkeye originally signed with San Diego as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2015 and was released during the Chargers final roster cuts. Lowdermilk appeared in all four of San Diego's preseason games and recorded 8 total tackles. Lowdermilk received Honorable mention All-Big Ten and was a recipient of the Coaches Appreciation Award as junior and senior. Born in Edina, Minn., he is the son of former Viking C Kirk Lowdermilk, who played for the Vikings from 1985-1992.
