The Vikings have signed former Bears DE Corey Wootton, the club announced today.
Wootton signs with the Vikings as an unrestricted free agent following 4 seasons with the Chicago Bears. Since entering the NFL in 2010, Wootton has recorded 54 tackles, 11.0 sacks and 13.0 TFLs in 45 appearances. In 2013, Wootton started 15-of-16 games for Chicago, finishing with 34 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 8 TFLs. Wootton scored the lone touchdown of his career on a blocked punt return, taking it back 5 yards for a score at Tennessee (11/4/12). A product of Northwestern, he was selected by the Bears in the 4th round (109th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft.
