EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings on Friday announced the release of offensive linemen Brandon Fusco and Mike Harris.
Fusco started 63 of the 66 regular-season games he played for the Vikings in six seasons. The former sixth-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft became a starter at right guard in 2012.
After missing all but three games in 2014, Fusco started all 16 games at left guard in 2015. He moved back to right guard in 2016, when he made 13 starts.
Harris joined the Vikings in 2014 when he was claimed off waivers from the Chargers. He appeared in 12 games that season and made five starts at right tackle in place of Phil Loadholt. Harris also appeared for the first time at guard that season.
He started all 16 games at right guard in 2015, but missed all of 2016 because of a non-football illness. Harris totaled 21 starts in 28 regular-season games in Minnesota.
The free agency period of 2017 will open on March 9, but Fusco and Harris are eligible to sign with other clubs before or after the start of free agency.
