Eden Prairie, MN (August 25, 2016) – With the Minnesota Vikings set to play their first game at U.S. Bank Stadium at 12:00 noon this Sunday, August 28, the team is encouraging fans to review the following key logistics to prepare for the 2016 season:
TRANSPORTATION
Parking
Guarantee your parking spot for all Vikings home games by **purchasing single-game parking passes** for lots surrounding U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings app will direct you from your home to the selected parking lot. You can also utilize the **traveler routing map** to park in one of four parking zones based on the direction you are approaching the stadium.
Light Rail
The U.S. Bank Stadium Station serves as a connecting point for the Green Line and Blue Line just outside the west side of the stadium. Metro Transit's **dedicated U.S. Bank Stadium page** provides tips for attending Vikings games. You can purchase an **All-Day Pass** for the same price as a roundtrip, eliminating the need to stand in line to pick up a return ticket. Metro Transit will utilize all trains during games, and supplemental Blue Line buses will leave from the northwest corner of Medtronic Plaza at 4th Street and Chicago Avenue post-game to take fans non-stop from U.S. Bank Stadium back to Fort Snelling, 28th Avenue and Mall of America only.
SouthWest Transit
SouthWest Transit is once again providing service to regular season Vikings games. Buses will pick up Vikings fans at its three transit hubs along Hwy 212: East Creek in Chaska, SouthWest Village in Chanhassen and SouthWest Station in Eden Prairie. Exact change or Go-To Cards are required. See the SWT website at **www.transit.org** for pickup times and additional information.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off
Pick-up and drop-off locations for fans with disabilities, as well as for Uber, Lyft, taxis and limousines can be found **here**.
STADIUM GATES/ENTRY TIMES
In order to provide additional time for Vikings fans to get inside the stadium, the Vikings will open U.S. Bank Stadium 30 minutes earlier (at 9:30 a.m.) than the typical two-hour window for Sunday's game. Please enter the gate designated on your ticket. When using your mobile phone for ticket entry, please have your ticket QR code ready for scanning. If you are using a printed PDF for ticket entry, please make sure that your PDF has a bar code ready for scanning. Email confirmations are not eligible for stadium admission.
VIKINGS APP
Download the new Vikings app, available on iPhone or Android, and watch the tutorial, prior to Sunday's game. The app can be used for turn-by-turn directions from fans' homes to their selected parking lots. Once inside the stadium, the app can help fans locate their seats, as well as the closest restrooms and favorite concessions. Make sure to keep your app updated in order to access all features, use the free stadium Wi-Fi named #USBANKSTADIUM and turn on your Bluetooth to utilize wayfinding.
SECURITY
For the safety of everyone at U.S. Bank Stadium, fans will walk through metal detectors or be screened with hand held wands to search for prohibited items.
BAG POLICY
The Vikings strongly encourage fans to not bring any type of bag to games. We will continue to enforce the NFL Bag Policy that limits the size and type of bags allowed in the stadium on game day. Acceptable items include:
· Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
· One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
· Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle strap
FRAUDULENT TICKETS
The only authorized outlets for Vikings tickets are the Vikings Ticket Office, Ticketmaster and the NFL TicketExchange. Purchasing tickets from any other sources are done at the buyer's risk. The Vikings have two types of authorized tickets: Vikings Mobile App or printed PDF. The team strongly discourages buying tickets on the street.
