The Vikings have placed LB Ben Gedeon on Injured Reserve and signed rookie WR Alexander Hollins off the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
Prior to being elevated to the 53-man roster, Hollins (6-1, 166) spent Weeks 2-12 of the season on the team's practice squad. The rookie was initially signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 3 and was waived during final cuts (8/31/19) before being re-signed to the practice squad on September 12. A native of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Hollins started 22 games over two seasons at Eastern Illinois after transferring from Copiah-Lincoln Community College (Wesson, Mississippi). He was awarded First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference and First Team All-America honors following a breakout senior season in 2018 that saw him total 1,102 yards on 80 receptions. Hollins was also a finalist for the 2018 Walter Payton Award, which is awarded annually to the most outstanding offensive player in the FCS.
