EAGAN, Minn. — Mike Hughes passed his physical and been removed from the Physcially Unable to Perform list, the team announced Monday.
After spending the final two-thirds of 2018 and the offseason rehabbing a torn ACL, the 2018 first-round pick was placed on the PUP list at the start of training camp.
Hughes has done rehabilitation work on side fields and recovery staircases. He was on the field with teammates for warm-ups to start Monday's practice.
Hughes' time off the field went from Cardinals to Cardinals.
He suffered the injury in Week 6 at home against Arizona, halting a promising campaign in which he recorded 20 tackles (19 solo), three pass breakups, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
Hughes also became the first Vikings rookie to record a pick-six in his NFL debut when he intercepted Jimmy Garoppolo and returned it 28 yards for a touchdown in Week 1.
