JACKSONVILLE — Vikings safety Harrison Smith will miss his first game of the 2016 season for Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars.
Smith, who is dealing with an ankle injury, leads Minnesota with 97 total tackles tallied by coaches. He is one of three starters not playing against Jacksonville.
Safety Anthony Harris, who joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2015, will make his first start of the season and third career start.
Center Joe Berger is also inactive with a concussion. Berger will miss his second straight game. Nick Easton will make his second consecutive start at center for the Vikings.
Punt returner Marcus Sherels, one of two players in the NFL with a pair of punt returns for touchdowns this season, is also inactive.
Quarterback Taylor Heinicke, defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, linebacker Edmond Robinson and tackle Rashod Hill are also inactive.
