Eagan, Minn. (October 19, 2018) – The Minnesota Vikings have hired Lara Juras as the team's new vice president of people & culture. Juras joins the team after spending nearly 20 years in Major League Baseball, most recently as the senior vice president of human resources for the Atlanta Braves.
"Lara brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience in professional sports, human resources and executive development," said Vikings Chief Operating Officer Kevin Warren. "During her tenure with the Braves, Lara served as a trusted advisor to the executive team, facilitating a major organizational restructure and leading a transition team during the Braves' relocation from Turner Field to SunTrust Park. Her career experience aligns with the Vikings recent stadium and practice facility projects, but more impressive is her passion for communicating effectively, building authentic relationships and developing leaders. Lara is a proven leader and will be an excellent addition to the Minnesota Vikings."
In her 13 years with the Braves, Juras held stints as the team's director of human resources and vice president of human resources before her most recent role as senior vice president. Prior to joining the Braves in 2004, she spent six years as the director of human resources for the Detroit Tigers. A native of Michigan, Juras also served in multiple capacities over eight years with Coopers & Lybrand, the former accounting firm based in Detroit.
Juras currently serves as an advisor for Front Office Women's "Lean In" Business Resource Group and has previously been on multiple Minor League Baseball committees. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and communication from Albion College in Albion, Michigan.
