EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings (14-2) on Saturday announced the use of standard elevations for outside linebacker Gabriel Murphy and linebacker Calvin Munson ahead of visiting the Detroit Lions (14-2) in Week 18.
Murphy, an undrafted rookie, was elevated once before this season and played 28 defensive snaps against Atlanta, as well as one special teams snap. He recorded one tackle and one quarterback hit against the Falcons.
The Vikings on Friday ruled out outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who suffered a knee injury last week against the Packers.
Munson, who turned 30 on Dec. 27, signed with Minnesota's practice squad in October and will be elevated for the first time as a Viking. He has appeared in 51 games with the Giants, Dolphins and Patriots. Munson started five games for New York as a rookie in 2017 and recorded five tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.
The San Diego State product has logged 685 special teams snaps and 546 on defense in the NFL.
The winner of this game, the 272nd and final of the regular season, will win the NFC North and the conference's top seed in the playoffs, which includes a first-round bye and home-field advantage in the NFC Playoffs.
The loser will be the No. 5 seed and have to go on the road during the Wild Card Round.
