The Minnesota Vikings have claimed RB Ben Tate off waivers. Tate, who started 6 games for Cleveland in 2014, has 527 carries for 2,325 yards and 14 touchdowns in his four seasons playing. Tate signed with Cleveland as a free agent in the 2014 offseason after spending his first three seasons with the Houston Texans. He has rushed 106 times for 333 yards and 4 touchdowns this season. Tate originally entered the NFL as a 2nd-round pick (#58 overall) by the Houston Texans in 2010 after playing collegiately at Auburn. Tate missed the 2010 season with an ankle injury.
To make room for Tate on the roster, the Vikings waived TE MarQueis Gray.
