The Minnesota Vikings have made the following updates to the 2020 coaching staff:
Gary Kubiak - Offensive Coordinator

Gary Kubiak will enter his 25th season as an NFL coach holding the title as the Vikings offensive coordinator/assistant head coach in 2020. Kubiak joined the Vikings in 2019 and helped renew the club's offense. As a team, the Vikings climbed from 30th in the NFL in rushing offense in 2018 to sixth in 2019. The Vikings posted a 3,000-yard passer (3,602 by Kirk Cousins), a 1,000-yard rusher (1,135 by Dalvin Cook) and a 1,000-yard receiver (1,130 by Stefon Diggs) while sending Cousins, Cook and fullback C.J. Ham to the Pro Bowl. The Vikings offense recorded 45 touchdowns, the highest total since 2009. Kubiak helped Cousins to the best season of his career with a 107.4 passer rating and a 26-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Andre Patterson will help oversee Minnesota's defense in his ninth season with the club, his first as a defensive coordinator while continuing his work with the defensive line. Since re-joining the club six seasons ago, Patterson has helped the Vikings defense rank third in the NFL in sacks (260), rushing touchdowns allowed (123) and opponent yards per game (321.8). In 2019, the Vikings posted 30 defensive takeaways, the third-best mark in the league with 17 interceptions (third in NFL) and 14 fumble recoveries (fifth in NFL). Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen earned Pro Bowl honors for their efforts in 2019. While under Patterson's guidance, Hunter became the youngest player in NFL history to eclipse 50.0 career sacks.
Adam Zimmer begins his seventh season with the Vikings in 2020 and his first as a defensive coordinator while still overseeing the linebackers. Zimmer was vital in developing Pro Bowl linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks. In Zimmer's six seasons with the Vikings, the defensive unit ranks in the top of the league in third down conversions (first, 36.1%), offensive points allowed (second, 181), opponent yards per game (third, 321.8), and sacks (third, 260). Kendricks was named AP First Team All-Pro after his 2019 season where he led the team in tackles for the fifth consecutive season and finished with 12 passes defensed, tied for the most among NFL linebackers.

Daronte Jones (duh-RAHN-tay) joins the Vikings as he enters his fifth season in the NFL after a pair of two year stints with the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins as a defensive backs coach. Before joining the NFL in 2016, Jones served as the Wisconsin Badgers defensive backs coach in 2015 when the Badgers led the nation with only seven passing touchdowns allowed. Jones also spent time as a collegiate coach with Hawaii, UCLA, Bowie State, Nicholls State and Lenoir-Rhyne University. The former Morgan State defensive back also coached in the Canadian Football League in 2011 with the Montreal Alouettes.
Phil Rauscher (RAU-sher) brings five years of NFL coaching experience to the Vikings staff after previously spending time with the Washington Redskins (2018-19) and Denver Broncos (2015-17). Rauscher most recently served as Washington's offensive line coach for the final 11 games of the 2019 season. The former UCLA offensive lineman is familiar with the Vikings offensive staff as he previously worked with Gary and Klint Kubiak, Rick Dennison and Brian Pariani in Denver. Before joining the NFL, Rauscher coached collegiately at California Lutheran, Hawaii, Utah, Dixie State and UCLA.
