EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Saturday announced the termination of tight end David Morgan's contract.
Morgan, who spent all of the 2019 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, failed a physical.
Originally selected by Minnesota in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Morgan became the first player ever drafted out of Texas-San Antonio.
He played in 38 regular-season games and made 12 starts, recording 16 receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown, a 1-yard reception at Washington in 2017.
Known more for his blocking prowess than his role as a receiver, Morgan also stepped in as Minnesota's emergency long snapper at Green Bay in Week 16 of the 2017 regular season after an injury to Kevin McDermott.
