Eagan, Minn. (August 26, 2018) – The Minnesota Vikings announced on Sunday that the team acquired C Brett Jones via trade with the New York Giants.
Jones (6-2, 312) has 14 career starts for the Giants in 30 games, including 13 starts in 2017. He started his first career NFL game at LG for the Giants vs. Cincinnati (11/14/16). A former Canadian Football League standout, Jones is a native of Saskatchewan and attended Regina University in Canada. He played for the Calgary Stampeders in 2013 and 2014, helping the club to a Grey Cup title in 2014 and earning CFL All-Star honors that season. He was the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2014. Jones joined the Giants in 2015 as a free agent.
The Minnesota Vikings traded an undisclosed draft pick for Jones. The completion of the trade is pending Jones passing a physical.
