EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings added depth to their defensive front over draft weekend.
Minnesota on Saturday selected Georgia defensive lineman Tyrion (pronounced TY-ree-ahn) Ingram-Dawkins with the 139th overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Last season for the Bulldogs, he logged career bests of 17 tackles, 3.0 sacks, eight tackles for loss and two pass breakups, earning invites to the Reese's Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine. Ingram-Dawkins was Georgia's only defensive lineman invited to the Senior Bowl.
He enthusiastically told Twin Cities media members via videoconference he "fell in love" with the Vikings organization, facilities and coaching staff during a Top 30 visit this spring.
"I'm excited to get up there and work with them," Ingram-Dawkins said. "I'm very excited to get up to Minnesota and get in that Brian Flores defense."
Here are five things to know about the Vikings new defensive lineman:
1. Back-to-back titles
Ingram-Dawkins and the Bulldogs won back-to-back College Football Championships, earning titles in 2021 and 2022.
Though he played just one game as a freshman in 2021, Ingram-Dawkins played in 14 games the following season and recorded 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and his first career fumble recovery.
He logged one tackle in the College Football Championship, a 65-7 rout of Texas Christian.
2. Relationship with Rice
Ingram-Dawkins hails from Gaffney, South Carolina, the same hometown as Vikings Legend Sidney Rice.
Asked about the former wide receiver, Ingram Dawkins said Rice "grew up right down the road from this house I'm in." The two also both attended Gaffney High School, albeit obviously at different time.
"Our families know each other," he said, "and growing up, Sidney was a big name … was able to go to [the Vikings and Seahawk] and thrive. I have a close relationship with Sidney. I've talked to him plenty of times, know him personally, so just to know he was a part of this organization with the Vikings has me even more pumped.
"It's bigger than me; it's for the city," Ingram-Dawkins added.
3. Shined at the combine
At the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Ingram-Dawkins had a chance to demonstrate his athleticism.
He tied for second fastest among this year's defensive tackles in the 40-yard dash, clocking in at 4.86 seconds. Only Nebraska's Ty Robinson (4.83) was faster in the position group.
Ingram-Dawkins ranked No. 1 among defensive tackles in the vertical jump (36 inches), broad jump (10 feet, 4 inches) and in the 3-cone drill (7.28 seconds). No one else in the position group reached the 10-foot mark in broad jump.

4. Started his own foundation
Prior to his final season at Georgia, he started his own nonprofit, The Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins Foundation, and last May hosted the "On the Block" youth football camp for young athletes ages 8-17.
He hosted the camp back home at Gaffney High School and later posted a recap video of the afternoon, calling it "nothing short of amazing."
5. Earned his diploma
Ingram-Dawkins graduated from Georgia in December with a degree in housing management and policy.
