Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer
Okay, getting ready to play a good football team. They beat the heck out of Jacksonville last week, can be very explosive, seventh in the league offensively, fourth in the league defensively. We're going to have to play very well to win this ballgame. We're going to have to be on point, stick with the details and play solid all the way around.
Q: How did Adam Thielen look to you in practice this week?
A: Good.
Q: With Adam Thielen not out there the last month, how have you seen Stefon Diggs reassert himself and continue to play well the last few weeks?
A: Yeah, actually he's played well all year long. He just continues to come out here and do his job and makes big plays for us. That's always been good. Hope he continues to do that.
Q: How do you think Mackensie Alexander is doing in slot right now?
A: Pretty good. Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to evaluate him.
Q: You were very complimentary of him going into the year. Have you seen more of the same trajectory?
A: Yeah, he understands the system and the coverages he continues to do. Now you can do little subtle things with him that you probably couldn't do before.
Q: After having success when rotating cornerbacks last week, how do you utilize that plan going forward?
A: We have a plan each week going in, but I like these young corners, too. Holton Hill and Kris Boyd, I think they have a good future coming forward. But yeah, we have a plan going in and kind of stick to it, and then sometimes it changes obviously if somebody gets dinged up or something like that.
Q: Do you expect Xavier Rhodes to be limited at all in the game on Sunday?
A: No.
Q: What do you think you'll do at backup running back with Alexander Mattison unavailable?
A: Probably play (Mike) Boone.
Q: What kind of progress is Mike Boone making this year?
A: Good. He's been terrific all year long as far as in practice and preseason games. I thought he ran hard last week. He's done a nice job.
Q: You have had a number of your defensive players make Pro Bowls, and Eric Kendricks and Anthony Harris could possibly join that group this year. Do you think they are having Pro Bowl seasons?
A: I don't really know about the Pro Bowl, it's all fan voting and the other things. We're just glad they're playing well, and we really don't worry about that. We're worrying about the Chargers and Philip Rivers and Keenan Allen. They're Pro Bowlers.
