Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer
Q: With so many quality defensive linemen on the roster Stephen Weatherly doesn't seem to get mentioned as much. What kind of player do you see there?
A: We haven't forgotten about him. We're using him a lot of different ways and trying to get him to continue to get better. He's a good athlete, and he's doing some good things.
Q: You mentioned Latavius Murray will probably play on Sunday. What have you seen out of him since he's been back?
A: Pretty much the same thing I've said every day. I think he's done a nice job in protections, he's been running with his pads low. I think he's done a nice job of finding the seams and the holes. He's looking good, catching the ball well.
Q: Because you don't have to make cuts following Sunday, does that change the way you will rotate players throughout the game?
A: Maybe a little bit. We've talked about it, but I think more importantly in the fourth game some of these other guys will get another opportunity, the guys who may have been released or not will get another opportunity. But there is a lot of bubble guys that will get a lot more playing time in the fourth game than they normally would.
Q: When evaluating the center and guard spots, what have you been looking for the most? Have you been looking for more repetitions or rather how they handle various situations?
A: Situation-wise I think they're fine. Rick [Spielman] and I spent about an hour this morning evaluating each guy there, going through all their tapes from the preseason practices and things like that. I think we got a pretty good feel for it.
Q: Do you feel like you'd be ready to make the final cuts after Sunday then?
A: I hope so. I mean I think I know how it's going to go, but things change. Injuries, maybe a guy doesn't play like you expect him to play, something like that, or maybe another guy plays better.
