EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Tuesday announced they have signed rookie safety Theo Jackson to their 53-man roster.
In order to make room for Jackson, Minnesota placed rookie running back Ty Chandler on Injured Reserve. Chandler suffered a thumb injury in Week 5 against Chicago.
Jackson joins Minnesota from Tennessee's practice squad. The Titans selected the former Volunteer in the sixth round (204th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.

After attending Overton High School in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, and earning All-State honors with five interceptions in 2016, Jackson joined the Volunteers.
Chandler coincidentally is also from Nashville and teamed with Jackson for four seasons at the University of Tennessee before transferring to North Carolina.
Jackson appeared in 56 games and made 24 starts for the Vols, totaling 190 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 20 passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Jackson, who was born in 1998, attended multiple Titans games during his youth. The Titans first moved to Tennessee in 1997 for the first of two seasons as the Tennessee Oilers.
