EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings (5-1) on Thursday ruled out tight end T.J. Hockenson and guard Dalton Risner ahead of opening Week 8 at the Los Angeles Rams (2-4) on Thursday Night Football.
Both are nearing the ends of their 21-day evaluation windows.
Hockenson has been recovering from a knee injury suffered against Detroit on Dec. 24, 2023. He is on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.
Risner has been rehabbing a back injury suffered during training camp. He is on the Injured Reserve/Designated for Return list.
The Vikings also used standard elevations for tight end Robert Tonyan and defensive lineman Jalen Redmond from their practice squad. Both have spent time on Minnesota's 53-man roster and the practice squad this season.

Tonyan has appeared in four games this season, totaling 13 snaps on offense and 33 on special teams. He has not yet been targeted on a pass.
Redmond has appeared in three games, totaling 25 defensive snaps and six on special teams. He recorded his first career sack against Houston in Week 3.
