Vikings Rule Out T.J. Hockenson & Dalton Risner, Make Multiple Roster Moves

EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings (5-0) on Saturday announced a series of roster moves ahead of hosting the Detroit Lions (4-1) in Sunday's Week 7 NFC North tilt.

Minnesota ruled out tight end T.J. Hockenson and guard Dalton Risner. Both are in their 21-day evaluation windows and are eligible to be activated at any point. A corresponding roster move would be required for either to be added.

Hockenson has been recovering from a knee injury suffered against Detroit on Dec. 24, 2023. He is on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.

Risner has been rehabbing a back injury suffered during training camp. He is on the Injured Reserve/Designated for Return list.

The Vikings also signed tight end Robert Tonyan to the 53-man roster from their practice squad and waived receiver Trishton Jackson.

Minnesota additionally used standard elevations for defensive lineman Jalen Redmond and outside linebacker Bo Richter from the practice squad.

Tonyan has appeared in three games, totaling 11 offensive snaps and 28 on special teams. He has not yet been targeted on a pass.

Redmond has appeared in two games, totaling 23 defensive snaps and one on special teams. He recorded his first career sack against Houston in Week 3.

Richter has appeared in two games, totaling 13 defensive snaps and 36 on special teams. He has recorded one tackle on defense and one on special teams.
