EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. —Surprise!
The day after Laquon Treadwell turned 21, the Vikings rookie receiver walked out of the Winter Park headquarters to find his SUV filled nearly to the sun/moon roof (depending your on preference) with Welch's Fruit Snacks.
Sixty thousand packets of Welch's Fruit Snacks — nearly one for every seat in nearly complete U.S. Bank Stadium — were dumped into Treadwell's SUV by the box load on Wednesday afternoon.
Kyle Rudolph capitalized on his height and arm length to pour box after box in through the roof opening and show in a fun way that he has quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's back.
Treadwell, you see, had been spotted twice parking in Bridgewater's parking spot.
"Welch's sent fruit snacks and told us we could pick anyone," Rudolph told Vikings.com. "Well then he parked in Teddy's spot twice and it was his birthday yesterday, so Happy Birthday. Shout out to Welch's for the fruit snacks."
Treadwell had his headphones partially on as he walked out to the lot and Rudolph led teammates in singing to the first-round pick. Treadwell took the prank in stride, raking bags back into the boxes to give them away.
"Thank you Welch's for supporting the Vikings," Treadwell said before joking, "I'm going to take these and I'm going to donate them to every family in America."
At least none of the bags placed by teammates had been opened.
Teddy Bridgewater and Kyle Rudolph pranked WR Laquon Treadwell by filling his car full of Welch's Fruit Snacks on Wednesday after the rookie parked his new ride in Teddy's spot.
