Robison, Joseph Salute FOX Mic Operator's Toughness after Bizarre Tackle

MINNEAPOLIS —Bernie Beaudry has helped bring football fans sounds of the game — including collisions for years, but on Sunday, he was part of one.

Beaudry was working one of the parabolic microphones for the FOX broadcast team. He cut in front of the Vikings dragon-headed ship that has been added to U.S. Bank Stadium moments before kickoff and stepped right into a throng of Vikings led by Brian Robison and Linval Joseph.

Down went Beaudry.

"Poor guy," Robison said. "We took off out of the tunnel, and I'm pretty sure he took a good lick from me and Linval. I felt bad for the guy. I was trying to help him up, and he was hurting pretty bad.

Robison even gave Beaudry a shout-out after the game:

It was Robison's 152nd game as a Viking and Joseph's 91st as a pro. Neither had experienced an encounter quite like this one.

"I was really surprised that someone was there because I've ran out of the tunnel plenty of times and never seen somebody running across before," Joseph said. "I'm glad he's OK.

"Crazy, but he's OK, we won the game and can't wait for the Detroit Lions," Joseph added.

The Vikings (6-4) visit Detroit (6-4) on Thursday.
