Stringer was drafted with the 24th pick of the 1995 draft by the Minnesota Vikings out of Ohio State. He took over the right tackle spot in the 2nd game of his rookie year and never relinquished the spot (1995-2000). He was named to the All-Rookie team by College and Pro Football Newsweekly and Football News after starting 15 of 16 games as a rookie. He started 91 of the 93 games he played in the NFL and all 9 playoff games. He was named a 2nd-Team All-Pro by College and Pro Football Newsweekly following the 1998 season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2000 season. He passed away on August 1, 2001. The Vikings inducted Stringer into the Ring of Honor on November 29, 2001.
