EAGAN, Minn. —The Vikings on Thursday selected Central Florida cornerback Mike Hughes, adding to the defense that ranked No. 1 in the NFL in yards allowed and points allowed in 2017.
Hughes was the third corner to come off the board, after Denzel Ward (fourth overall to the Browns) and Jaire Alexander (18th overall to the Packers).
Five quarterbacks were selected for the first time since 1999, including Baker Mayfield (Browns) to start the evening and Lamar Jackson (Ravens) to end it.
A total of 16 picks were involved in trades, including deals that were finalized before the draft.
