Randy Moss never met a defender he couldn't outreach, outrun and outplay.
Now having faced one of his biggest challenges yet, the Hall of Fame receiver is committed to "Mossing" another opponent.
This time, cancer.
Moss shared earlier this month he's been dealing with a health issue; on Friday afternoon, he took to Instagram Live to specifically disclose a cancer diagnosis, six-day hospital stay and what he explained as a successful surgery.
He reiterated the importance of everyone receiving cancer screenings — "especially Black men, you've gotta be able to check your ego at the door" — and explained that he'd sought testing after noticing unusual symptoms.
"I did have cancer. They found it in the bile duct right between the pancreas and the liver," Moss noted.
He credited numerous doctors by name, especially calling out Dr. John Martinie, M.D., "and his crew" who performed a six-hour Whipple procedure on Moss.
"Dr. Martinie, you are the man," he said. "I am forever grateful. Thank you and your team, nursing me back to health and getting me back here to my family."
Wearing a custom "Team Moss" T-shirt, Moss referenced additional shirts behind him with the same message or "Let's Moss Cancer" and pointed fans to his website where merchandise can be purchased to support cancer research.
"I'm not really taking a lot of questions," Moss said, "but I wanted my fans and all my prayers warriors to be able to see me, and I just wanted y'all to see I did bounce back. There are a lot of people out there who are either battling cancer, or they've had cancer in their family that people are fighting.
"I didn't think I would ever be in a position like this, as healthy as I thought I was, but things took a turn for the worst," he continued. "I asked for my prayer warriors, I asked for my family to surround me and put their hands on me through this trying time, and you all best believe your boy came through."
Moss emphasized he "felt all the prayers" and read countless well-wishes on social media.
"There's a lot of messages I got, a lot of you were talking about, 'My kids were going to bed and saying a prayer for you.' All my little Moss fans out there, I thank you. God bless you," he said with a smile.
Moss shared he'll be undergoing "some chemo and radiation" as a follow-up to surgery but assured, "I'm good."
"I'm here with my family, and I can't wait to bust one of y'all's heads on Call of Duty or NBA 2K," he quipped at his sons. "But I'm back. Your boy is back."
