Profile
Summary: Alexander's best season with the Cardinals came as a sophomore in 2016 when he totaled five interceptions and 14 passes defensed in 13 games. He recorded two interceptions in games against Clemson and Virginia and garnered selection to the All-ACC Second Team. Alexander battled a sprained knee and broken hand that limited him to six games this past season, and he decided to enter the NFL Draft with a year of eligibility remaining.
Alexander showed speed and agility during drills at the combine. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein also **liked what he saw from Alexander in 2016*** *but said the game tape from 2017 "was uneven" due to the injuries faced by Alexander. Zierlein added, "When healthy, he has the potential to become a second cornerback, but teams may view him as a full-time nickel cornerback who is able to avoid the rigors of excessive run support."
Stacking up: NFL Media analyst Bucky Brooks described Alexander as "an ultra-competitive corner with a rock-solid game" and listed him as the fifth-best cornerback before the combine. NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock also ranked Alexander fifth in pre-combine rankings.
Rising stock?: Brooks and Daniel Jeremiah began a "Move the Sticks" podcast about players who helped themselves at the combine with Alexander.
"I thought he helped himself as much as anybody in the entire combine," Jeremiah said. "He was flying and then had a phenomenal field workout to go with that 40 time. I thought he was someone in that middle-late first round. Buck, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a top-15 pick."
