Summary: Cain delivered big plays, averaging 15.7 yards per reception in three seasons, and performed on big stages for Clemson. He totaled 11 receptions for 169 yards in the Tigers past two bowl games against the Crimson Tide (five for 94 yards in a win in the 2016 CFP National Championship and six for 75 yards in the Sugar Bowl).
Cain recorded 34 catches for 582 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games (one start) as a true freshman, nabbing a score in five consecutive games to break Sammy Watkins' freshman record at the school. He missed the final two games that season because of a suspension.
In 2016, Cain caught 38 passes for 724 yards and nine touchdowns, averaging 19.1 yards per reception.
Stacking up: NFL Media analyst **Bucky Brooks*** *ranked Cain as the fifth-best receiver in this year's class, writing that Cain is "a productive playmaker with the speed and running skills to thrive as a catch-and-run specialist."
Cain was not listed among Mike Mayock's top five receivers or in Daniel Jeremiah's Top 50 overall prospects list.
NFL analyst Lance Zierlein wrote in Cain's **NFL.com profile** that the prospect is "a classic Clemson receiver with a good combination of size and speed and an underappreciated feel for the position. Cain's routes are smooth, but also show an understanding of coverage."
Double dose: After being named AAAAAAA First-Team All-State as a quarterback in Florida, Cain was invited to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl where he had a 54-yard passing touchdown and a 50-yard receiving touchdown.
