Profile
Summary:Williams followed his 10.5-sack season as a junior with 9.0 more in 2016.. He only started two games and was suspended for a half because of a misdemeanor charge for possessing a gun without a permit.
Lance Zierlein of NFL.com said Williams "**rockets out of stance** like a track sprinter, but with shoulder pads on. True edge bending ability as a rusher. Pass-rush approach is more sophisticated than he is given credit for. Can win outside or inside making every rush a potential two-way go. Shows good feel for the pass-rush arc and understands when to attack the corner. Able to dip shoulder and pivot under and around an offensive tackle and into the quarterback."
Stacking up: NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock ranks Williams as his No. 2 edge rusher prospect. Fellow analyst Bucky Brooks has Williams as his top outside linebacker. Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated has Williams as the second-ranked edge rusher in the draft, noting that he could be a top-15 pick.
Disruptive force: More than half (51.6 percent) of Williams' tackles came behind the line of scrimmage, according to his Alabama Crimson Tide bio.
