During the month of October the Vikings Cheerleaders enjoyed yet another busy month of appearances in the community. Here are a few highlights from this month.
Cheerleaders Michelle and Kayla C. had the chance to surprise a high school football team in Fargo, North Dakota after winning a contest held by Stanford Health. Here is what Michelle had to say about their experience: "This was such a fun appearance! We arrived in Fargo by jet and were driven to the High school incognito where we preceded to stay hidden behind the school. The football team started their practice and we, along with 3 football players and lots of media, interrupted their practice as a surprise! The team was so shocked that they had won this event held by Sanford health! The players each talked to the team about their experience getting to the NFL and everyone took many photos to capture this special day."
The MVC also hosted NFL Mexico's television show. The show focuses on showcasing cheerleading teams in the NFL to learn about. The Viking's cheerleaders helped showcase to fans in Mexico components that make Minnesota so special. We choose to highlight our favorite season for football, fall. We first visited Sever's Corn Maze, where we raced each other through the long corn maze, used a rope swing to swing into a giant pit of corn, and played games involving things like shooting pumpkins at a target through a cannon. Another stop was made at the famous Mall of America. Cheerleaders and our guests from Mexico's show were able to visit stores and experience some of the daring rides at Nickelodeon Universe. Once Sunday came, the show also highlighted what game day is like in the perspective of a cheerleader. We had so much fun showing off Minnesota and were honored to be featured in this television series.
Cheerleaders Taylor and Rachel were able to reach our elderly community members at Ebenezer Day Break-Adult Day Center. The girls spent time helping individuals and listening to stories of their life experiences. They also shared what it is like to be a cheerleader for our beloved Viking's Football team. They even ended with a Viking's Purple and Gold cheer that helped lift everyone's spirit involved.
The cheerleaders continued to work hard raising money for The Viking's Children's Fund that helps support pediatric cancer research at places like the University of Minnesota by selling our 17-month fitness calendar. Don't forget to help our great cause and check out all the fitness tips included in this year's beautiful calendar!
October was a busy month but we always love spreading Viking's pride, sharing time with our fans, and giving back to the community.
