EAGAN, Minn. – The Vikings are joining the NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens) space with the rollout of unique, virtual, tickets to commemorate game day.
The NFL recently launched All-32 NFTs, season-long virtual commemorative tickets for all clubs available through the Ticketmaster marketplace.
But the upcoming Thursday Night Football game against the Steelers, during which the Vikings will don their Primetime Purple uniforms.
People who purchase tickets from an official NFL ticket partner and attend the game will receive a commemorative NFT after the game.
NFTs are an emerging technology, representing digital certificates of ownership for an assigned digital asset. They are built on blockchain technology and offer unique benefits, including reduced counterfeit risk, IP monetization and transferability.
Ticketing NFTs will live within the fan's wallet within the League Marketplace, powered by TM, following purchase.
Fans who purchase NFTs can opt to transfer them to someone else. Buyers also can sell their NFTs and set a purchase price. Resale amounts will be capped at $10,000. Read FAQs for more information.
