The Vikings are consistently and superiorly elevating NFL club standards.

Case in point: Minnesota earned the second-best marks on the 2025 NFLPA Report Cards.

The third-annual survey, announced Wednesday by the NFL Players Association, compiled feedback and data from 1,695 players this year (a 77% participation rate) across a telling, full spectrum of categories, including their club's treatment of families, food/cafeteria offerings and head coach and owner impacts.

It was the second consecutive year in which Minnesota ranked No. 2 overall behind the Miami Dolphins, and third in a row in a primo spot as the Vikings were No. 1 overall the first year the cards were issued.

"Minnesota maintains its No. 2 ranking, continuing to have top-of-the-line facilities, a highly regarded coach and owner, and a helpful support staff," the NFLPA wrote in its breakdown of teams. "Despite already receiving high grades, they made additional improvements since the prior survey — most notably in the training staff, which saw its grade rise from a B to an A, the second highest in the league."

In the 2025 index, the Vikings received A- or better in 10 of 11 categories and an A-plus in the following four: treatment of families, locker room, head coach and ownership. The former two slots were first overall; the latter two were third, behind Washington and Atlanta and Miami and Atlanta, respectively.

"When asked what the team does best, players overwhelmingly praise how the organization cares for them and their families," the NFLPA noted of Minnesota, which was the lone franchise with an A-plus grade in that space. "The Vikings have been the gold standard when it comes to treatment of families."

The survey reported that players rated Minnesota's post-game family area a 9.02 out of 10, and shared that "players feel that their team frequently organizes family events, which ranks 10 out of 32 teams."

Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and the Wilf family ownership were viewed glowingly, too. Players scored the Wilf family's willingness to invest in facilities at 9.83 out of 10 points, which ranked second overall.

Ownership also was credited by Vikings players for significantly adding to a positive team culture and displaying an extreme commitment to constructing a competitive team, third out of 32 in both instances.

O'Connell was deemed by his players to be highly receptive to locker room feedback on the team's needs, and "94% of Vikings players feel their head coach Kevin O'Connell is efficient with their time."

The survey, which contained closed-ended and optional open-ended questions, revealed that Vikings players also were overwhelmingly happy with the weight room (A-minus; 10th overall), food/dining area (A-minus; 9th), training room (A-minus; 4th) and strength coaches and team travel (A; 2nd and 3rd).

Additionally, Minnesota's worst rating – a B-plus for nutritionist/dietitian – was 15th and above average.

The Falcons, Raiders and Chargers were tabbed as the best destinations, if you will, after Minnesota.

The report cards, determined exclusively by the players, were introduced in 2023 to act as a "Free Agency Guide" that's intended to highlight which clubs are excelling in applicable areas and help raise awareness about potential improvements of conditions or practices for the lower-performing teams.

All evaluations were anonymous and designed to capture players' experiences at their workplace.

Ultimately, it's the NFLPA's goal to educate its membership and drive action for the league's betterment. With three cycles completed, it's clear players are interested, with form submissions piling up yearly; the count grew from 1,300 players (60%) in '23 to 1,706 (77%) in '24 – 2025 had a solid response rate, again.

The survey was expanded to 11 categories in 2024 after starting with eight. For followers of the division, here's the overall rank of the other NFC North clubs: Green Bay (7th), Detroit (9th) and Chicago (14th).

For Minnesota, whose game-day experience recently was pegged No. 1 overall in the Voice of the Fan” survey, the report cards offer further affirmation that what has been built is highly conducive to success.
