EAGAN, Minn. – There's a new content series headed your way for the 2019 Vikings season.
Purple Pups will showcase the four-legged friends of Vikings executives, coaches and players (past and present). From Head Coach Mike Zimmer and his beloved grand-dog, Jolie, to linebacker Eric Kendricks' French bulldog, Basil, and safety Harrison Smith's chocolate Lab, Deuce, there's no shortage of canine characters within the Vikings family.
A multi-platform project from Vikings Entertainment Network, Purple Pups will feature written stories for Vikings.com and the team's game-day program, Vikings Playbook; photo galleries; and creatively produced video segments that are heartwarming and hilarious alike.
The aforementioned video segments will be viewable on Vikings.com and also will be featured in some episodes of this season's Vikings Connected, which is returning for its sixth season.
The Purple Pups series is sponsored by North Memorial Health and will highlight mostly dogs, although fans can keep their eyes peeled for a spin-off episode at some point during the season.
Below is a preview of what Vikings fans can expect from some of their favorite players – and the pups who have changed their lives.
This teaser also will be included in the first episode of Vikings Connected, which will air at 8:30 p.m. Friday on FOX 9+.
Fans can tune-in at this time for new Vikings Connected episodes throughout the season. Episodes will re-air at midnight on FOX 9 Saturday nights, and repeat airings will run on FOX Sports North throughout the week.
