The Salute To Service game took place at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, November 6th against the Detroit Lions. This game is so special to all of us as we get to honor the men and women who so selflessly serve and protect this great country.
A skydiving team made up of former U.S Navy SEALS, who landed in The Commons outside of the stadium, hand delivered the game ball to a joint services guard made up of active duty members from each branch of the military. As "The United States Air Force Ceremonial Brass Quintet" performed the National Anthem, I along with my fellow MVC, were taken back by the phenomenal display happening at center field. Feeling so grateful to have such amazing men and women who defend our country so that we can feel safe, thankful to be free and blessed to live in the great country that we do.
The MVC were honored to join rising country star, Luke Combs, and the Twin Cities-based a cappella group, Home Free, during the halftime show along with members of each branch of service as "God Bless the USA" was performed. The fans were brought to their feet and couldn't hold back excitement when they sung "From the lakes of Minnesota".
The Salute to Service game is always so memorable and although it only happens once a year, we are eternally grateful for what the military does for our country each and every day. We as MVC are thankful for the tremendous sacrifice and thank those who have served and are currently serving. God Bless the USA.
SKOL!
