EAGAN, Minn. – Vikings long snapper Andrew DePaola has been recognized as an All-Pro for the second straight season.
DePaola was announced to the Second-Team All-Pro roster by The Associated Press Friday.
"Any time you get recognized, it's quite the honor," he said. "I'm extremely humbled and excited to again be voted as an All-Pro. Every day I just strive to live up to the player that both the coaches and my teammates expect me to be, and if Pro Bowls and All-Pro recognition comes along with that, it's just an amazing added bonus."
DePaola's second career All-Pro came shortly after receiving his second straight Pro Bowl nod.
DePaola's recent work includes executing a picture-perfect snap against the Packers in Week 17, enabling Greg Joseph to smoothly knock through a 54-yard field goal. He has been instrumental in special teams plays throughout the season, including making a direct snap to running back Ty Chandler on a successful fake punt against the Broncos Week 11.
DePaola is well-respected by his teammates, coaches and peers and is recognized as a leader within Minnesota's locker room.
Vikings Special Teams Coordinator Matt Daniels praised DePaola last month, nicknaming him "Perfect All-Pro Po."
"The snaps are perfect," Daniels said. "I don't think there's a doubt he should end up being a back-to-back All-Pro and a Pro Bowler.
