The Hall of Fame coach built a strong rapport with his players over nearly 20 years in Minnesota, earning respect even from those whose time with the team was brief.
"You made football much more meaningful to those of us who were fortunate enough to play for you," former cornerback Bobby Bryant penned following Grant's first retirement in 1984.
Explore the above installment of "Letters to Bud" to read messages from Bryant, along with other former Vikings – and even a dedicated young member of the team equipment staff – expressing the impacts that Grant made on their lives.
