LAS VEGAS — Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was announced Sunday at No. 99 overall in NFL Network's annual "Top 100 Players of 2022" series.
The series began counting backward from 100 to 51 over the course of several hours that followed Minnesota's 2022 preseason opener at Las Vegas.
Cousins was diagnosed with COVID-19 last Thursday and did not travel to Las Vegas. He anticipates returning to Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center Tuesday.
NFL Films has produced the Top 100 countdown since 2011.
Cousins first debuted in a listing in 2016 at No. 85 while with Washington. The following season, he moved up to No. 70.
Minnesota signed Cousins in the 2018 offseason, and he entered that year ranked at No. 94.
After throwing for more than 4,000 yards for a fourth consecutive season and a career-high 30 touchdowns in 2018, Cousins entered 2019 at 78.
He vaulted up to No. 58 on the 2020 list after leading the Vikings to the playoffs.
Cousins was not ranked in the Top 100 of 2021.
